A Montana mansion that recently hit the market for $1.8 million adds a whole new meaning to the concept of a “man cave,” having been filled with a number of very unique amenities that make it a bachelor’s paradise.

But intriguingly, despite an array of features that many might assume were targeted toward a male inhabitant, the property has actually served as home to a “normal” suburban family for many years.

“This is not at all a single bachelor,” says listing agent Heather Lay, with Keller Williams Capital Realty. “[The family] owns multiple businesses. He’s a teacher at the local high school. They’re just hard working, very normal, and everyone’s best friend.”

Still, the home will no doubt prove alluring to any buyer looking for a treasure trove of amusing amenities, from a golf simulator to a garage packed with tools and vintage sports cars—all of which are included in the $1.8 million price tag.

Located in Helena, MT, the 5,138-square-foot property was first put on the market in May for $2.5 million; however, that price has since been reduced by $300,000, despite the many extra items included in the sale.

The home is located in a subdivision.

‘Wow’ factor

Built in 1986, the property has since been expanded. The sellers recently built a 2,000-square-foot addition they call “the penthouse.”

The recreational space comes with a full kitchen, theaterlike seating in the media room with a 98-inch TV, a high-end sound system, golf simulator, weight room, and at least a dozen other TVs, even in the bathroom.

“It really brought the wow factor to the property,” Lay says.

But there’s so much more.

“The lower level is a crazy great man-cave garage, which houses two Aston Martin vintage cars, which are included and convey with the property,” Lay explains.

In fact, everything in the perk-packed listing photos, with the exception of personal items, conveys with the sale.

The living spaces have a softer touch.

There are four bedrooms and four baths.

“It’s a fully furnished with all of the fun factor, and that’s what makes it special,” Lay adds.

Hope you like tools! The workshop is filled from floor to ceiling with every kind of tool, which also come with the home.

“One of the garages is fully loaded with every potential Milwaukee tool that you can have,” Lay says. “Our seller is a Milwaukee tool dealer, and that’s why we have that feature.”

There’s also a space for an elevator if the buyer wants to add one.

So what inspired a family man to build a man-cave-themed house?

“Because they can,” Lay explains. “They are such a fun, loving family. They love to play, so they work hard, play hard. They love having company. They love hosting, and they love entertaining.”

While parts of the home are built for fun, the rest is for relaxing, especially in the living spaces and the four bedrooms. Although the place is furnished and turnkey, there is room for upgrades.

The home overlooks a park.

There is plenty of deck space.

“It’s a lovely home. Even though the home is very large, it feels incredibly cozy the way that it is set up,” Lay says. “Someone else is going to come in, and they’re going to make it look like what they prefer.”

Another perk is certainly the abundance of outdoor space adjacent to the property, since it abuts a huge park.

“The house sits in a very suburban, very lovable subdivision, and it is on the perimeter of an 8-acre park,” Lay says. “It’s a gorgeously maintained park, which is one of the features for this property because that is an 8-acre backyard that this owner doesn’t maintain.”

And as a bonus, a large deck with a hot tub looks out over the green space.

Seeking a fun-loving buyer

While the sellers are ready to move on from their man-cave mansion, they are looking for someone who has always dreamed of a place built for fun.

Lay believes the perfect buyer “is an entertainer and [likes] lifestyle living. Someone certainly who loves hosting and someone who really enjoys the benefits of a subdivision neighborhood.

“This might be a second home for someone where, when they come to town, they are there to really enjoy themselves,” she says. “They can either relax or they can have a lot of fun.”
