“Mean Girls” star Lizzy Caplan celebrated the 20th anniversary of the hit movie this year—and now she’s ready to mark another milestone before the end of 2024: selling one of her first real estate investments.

Caplan, 42, who shot to fame as Janis Ian in the 2004 comedy, has listed her lovely dwelling in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. The asking price is $2.85 million—which is a $1 million bump over what she paid in 2013.

It appears Caplan has not resided in the home for some time now; it was listed for rent in 2023, most recently for $15,000 per month.

Built in 1961, the three-bed, two-bath home spans just over 2000 square feet and is a “masterclass in modernist design,” the listing notes.

Along with “landmark views,” the property offers a swimmer’s pool that stretches the length of the yard—and it can be viewed from nearly every room in the house.

The pool spans the length of the home in L.A.’s Los Feliz neighborhood.

Greenery frames the “runway-style entrance,” which leads to an atrium—all showcasing a seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces.

Inside, the clerestory windows flood the main living areas with natural light, “enhancing the sense of height and openness,” the listing notes.

Details include wood-clad ceilings, walls of glass, and tile and wood flooring throughout. The living room features a wood-burning fireplace and outdoor access.

The adjacent library-like space includes built-in bookshelves and a sofa. The custom chef’s kitchen offers deep green cabinetry, open shelving, and a center table topped with beautifully ornate light fixtures. The dining area also includes an eye-catching modern chandelier, and the space overlooks the pool as well.

The primary suite is located in its own wing and features a spacious bath with dual vanities. It looks out to an atrium behind glass walls.

The pool area out back has a distinct Palm Springs vibe, with the “languid glamour of (photographer) Slim Aarons‘ iconic poolside imagery,” the listing states.

Lizzy from L.A.

Caplan, who is from L.A., is married to Tom Riley, a British-born actor. She met him while filming in London for the 2016 movie “Now You See Me 2.” They married in 2017 and share a son, born in 2021.

Although she got her start on the short-lived but iconic show “Freaks and Geeks,” the actress may be best known for her breakout role in the 2004 comedy “Mean Girls,” starring Lindsay Lohan. The film was recently rebooted as a movie musical.

Along with movies such as “Cloverfield,” “127 Hours,” and “Hot Tub Time Machine,” Caplan starred in the TV shows “Masters of Sex,” “Party Down,” and more recently, “Fleishman Is in Trouble,” for which she received an Emmy Award.

As for her signature role in “Mean Girls,” Caplan noted the 20th anniversary of the original movie, telling ET, “I love Janis, too. I’m very grateful that I get to be her forever. Honestly, it’s a good thing.”
