Rapper A$AP Rocky‘s felony assault trial has reached closing arguments—almost three years after the police raided his $4 million Los Angeles home as part of their investigation into claims he shot a gun at his former friend during a physical altercation in 2021.
If he is found guilty of the two felony assault charges he is facing, the 36-year-old father of two, who has been in a relationship with pop star Rihanna since 2020, faces up to 24 years in prison.
The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, has entered a plea of “not guilty” and forfeited the right to testify; however, his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, has repeatedly attempted to sway the jury to his side, arguing that the weapon used was actually a prop gun and suggesting that the case against his client is one of “extortion.”
Throughout the trial, A$AP Rocky has been supported by his longterm partner, Rihanna, who also brought their two children, RZA and Riot, to court with her on Feb. 13, when closing arguments in the case were presented to the 12-person jury.
Rihanna has seemingly remained unwavering in her support of her partner, with whom she lives in a sprawling Beverly Hills, CA, mansion they purchased for $13.8 million back in 2020.

However, while that home serves as the couple’s primary residence, A$AP Rocky also owns another $4 million home nearby, which he bought in 2015. That house was the site of an April 2022 raid carried out by police investigating the allegations being levied against him.
During the trial, the jury was shown images taken during the raid, with video footage captured at the time revealing that officers used a battering ram to gain access to the gated dwelling, which is located on a leafy street lined with luxury properties.
The cops removed multiple boxes of evidence from the home as well as several guns, which did not match the one used in the shooting, according to TMZ, which later published images of several U-Haul trucks leaving the home.
However, according to records, the home is still in the rapper’s possession, having last traded hands in 2015, when A$AP Rocky purchased it for $3.05 million—although Realtor.com® estimates it is now worth more than $4 million.
The 6,506-square-foot property features five bedrooms and five bathrooms.
It also boasts an expansive open floor plan with a gorgeous Italian kitchen, private bedroom balconies, and a zero-edge pool.
According to the original listing, the home is a “spectacular cutting edge” property with “stunning designer finishes.”
“New and unique features include a sunken conversation area, open sky upstairs patio with fireplace and large front bedroom balcony,” the description continues.
“Private entertainer’s backyard, with gorgeous zero edge pool and spa. Bright light-filled open floor plan as never seen before. Close to hip restaurants and shops. This is a must-see property.”

It is unclear how regularly the musician uses the dwelling, given that he and Rihanna own another home just a short distance away, which is where they are understood to live with their two sons.
That home, which is in the coveted 90210 ZIP code, is tucked behind lush landscaping and sits in an exclusive area of Beverly Hills.
It offers 7,628 square feet of space and features five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. It has previously been described as a “true sensory experience.”
Inside, there is a chef’s kitchen, cocktail bar, formal living and family areas, and French oak flooring.
The master bedroom boasts a spa-inspired bathroom that opens up to a luxurious outdoor sitting area.
“Designed for entertaining, the main living areas open to an immaculately manicured central courtyard with a multi-level outdoor space featuring a grand outdoor terrace, pool, spa and fire pit,” the listing adds.
It has not been revealed whether police also visited this residence as part of their investigations; however, A$AP Rocky’s arrest took place at Los Angeles International Airport as he and Rihanna returned from a trip to Barbados together.
During closing arguments, which are expected to last through Feb. 14, Deputy District Attorney Paul Przelomiec told the jurors that they have one key question to answer: “Was it a real gun or was it a fake gun?”
