Inside Billionaire Jerry Seinfeld’s Staggering Property Portfolio—as he and Wife Jessica Become Empty Nesters

“Seinfeld” star Jerry Seinfeld and his wife, cookbook author Jessica Seinfeld, are officially empty nesters after sending their youngest child off to college to join the class of 2028.

Jerry, 70, and Jessica, 52, marked a major milestone in both their 19-year-old son Shepherd‘s life and their own when they dropped him off at school to begin his freshman year on Aug. 19.

Shepherd is following in his siblings’ footsteps by enrolling at Duke University; his brother, Julian, 21, is a student there, while their sister, Sascha, 23, is a recent graduate from the prestigious college.

Jessica celebrated the bittersweet moment on Instagram, sharing a series of photos of herself and Jerry with Shepherd, as well as Sascha and Julian.

“Move-in weekend,” she wrote in the caption. “All 3 baby birds have flown. Hope all of you first timers or last timers are holding up. #classof2028”

While Jerry and Jessica are experiencing the same struggles that many parents do when their children fly the nest, their “nest” looks a litte different from most people’s.

Jerry—a longtime comedian, A-lister, and Netflix star worth an estimated $1.1 billion, according to Forbes—has several “nests” scattered across the U.S., having spent the past two decades snapping up impressive properties. Several are located in the New York area, as well as the West Coast.

From his massive Hamptons retreat to the Manhattan garage he purchased to house his collection of vintage cars, Jerry’s real estate collection is no laughing matter.

Here, we reveal an inside look at some of his most impressive properties.

He’ll take Manhattan

While his “Seinfeld” character lives in a tiny apartment usually filled with his friends and family, in real life, Jerry has plenty of room to stretch out. Maybe even more so now that his three children aren’t at home.

Like his popular TV character, Jerry also has a West Side apartment. And it’s spectacular.

In 1998, he purchased a duplex unit in one of the Upper West Side’s most iconic buildings for $4,350,000. Features include 12-foot ceilings, a 450-square-foot terrace, three bedrooms, and a fireplace. It’s steps from Central Park.

The modern interior has quite the kitchen and dining space, as showcased on Jessica’s Instagram feed.

The kitchen comes up a lot for the cookbook author, who seems to spend some quality time in the cook space whipping up vegan delicacies.

Seinfeld’s cute cat also gets a fair share of the social media spotlight, with Jessica regularly sharing images of the feline relaxing inside their opulent home.

Hamptons home

When he wants to escape from the city, the comedian can relax at his 12-acre Amagansett, NY, property that he picked up in 2000 from music legend Billy Joel.

Cost for the beachfront megamansion? A mere $25.6 million. Spending time with family? Priceless!

Located in one of the area’s most desirable neighborhoods, the estate features a main house, a three-bedroom guesthouse, and a baseball diamond that was added by the comedian.

A fun detail revealed in an article in 2014: The caffeine-loving comedian has quite a piece of fancy equipment: A $17,000 Elektra Deliziosa coffee maker.

“People come over just to have coffee with us—that’s how we have friends,” Jessica jokingly said at the time.

Again, the cat and Jerry seem to be making the most of their time together in the dining room.

Upper West Side garage

Of course, the creator of “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” would have a separate building just for his car collection.

In 1999, he paid around $1 million for an Upper West Side structure, for the sole purpose of housing his collection of Porsches. It’s reportedly just blocks from his penthouse.

He remodeled the building—a former plumbing business—to include 850 square feet of living space and underground parking spots. According to a 2013 report, the three-story garage features four parking spots, an office, bathroom, and club room with a pool table.

Vermont country house

The Seinfelds own a large lake house in Burlington, VT, where Jessica grew up and attended college. She picked up the property, just a 10-minute drive to the city’s center, in 2010 for $1,050,000.

When the property was on the market over a decade ago, it was touted as offering “over 100 feet of sandy beach” and a lakeside gazebo.

Bachelor pad

Long before Seinfeld scooped up his massive Central Park West duplex, he lived in a small two-bedroom apartment with picture windows and a fireplace.

He sold the unit in 2006 for $2.5 million—a bit above his asking price.

Los Angeles spread

While filming “Seinfeld,” the star lived the Hollywood life in a posh mansion he purchased for $2.8 million in 1992. He reportedly sold it six years later to a “Seinfeld” producer for $3.2 million.

But he hasn’t cut all ties with the West Coast. The auto aficionado reportedly owns a hangar at the Santa Monica Airport and a couple of other commercial properties.

Telluride mansion

The couple shed their ski getaway for $14 million in 2022.

The 27-acre compound in Telluride, CO, included 11 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a yoga studio, gym, and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The couple bought the mountain mansion in 2007 for $7.55 million.
