Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are still trying to offload their $68 million marital mansion in the wake of their divorce—but that hasn’t stopped the “Jenny From the Block” singer from reportedly eyeing up another wildly expensive Los Angeles home.

Reports suggest that J. Lo and Affleck stand to lose up to $25 million on the sale of their Beverly Hills home, which they purchased for $60.8 million in 2023 and have since put on the market for $68 million. Apparently, the pop princess is still willing to fork out millions more on a home of her own.

TMZ claims that Lopez is currently “in negotiations to buy” a lavish and storied mansion that would more than fill the hole left by the sale of the property she shared with Affleck. (The singer’s team has yet to confirm these reports.)

The megamansion in question? The iconic Azria estate, which is located just 5 miles down the road from her ill-fated former home, offers a glittering array of amenities as well as Hollywood prestige.

The property was once owned by fashion designer Max Azria, and the most recent $55 million list price comes in at a little less than her last real estate purchase.

But that hasn’t stopped Lopez from eyeing up another incredible California home: the Azria estate, which was once owned by designer Max Azria.

The sumptuous estate that was once the home of Azria and his widow, Lubov, has been on and off the market for years.

The 1930s-era mansion might be well-suited to Lopez’s extravagant tastes as she and Affleck were said to have toured the property in 2023 while mansion shopping. It was even featured in Lopez’s recently released movie “Atlas.”

In May, the mansion was headed to auction with Concierge Auctions, which has since listed it as pending sale and closed the auction.

But that isn’t the end of the story. For one thing, the listing on Realtor.com® remains active with a $55 million price tag.

And according to TMZ, J. Lo’s interest in the property hasn’t been thwarted by the winning bidder.

TMZ notes “billionaire investor Ron Burkle placed the winning bid at $30 million” but adds that the businessman then filed a lawsuit against Azria’s widow, Lubov, alleging breach of contract.

These legal wranglings could open a window for Lopez to swoop in and negotiate a deal between $30 million to $39 million for the mansion, TMZ claims.

Realtor.com has contacted Lopez’s spokesperson for comment.

Behind the home’s history

The estate was designed in 1939 by architect to the stars Paul Williams.

The Azrias reportedly paid $14.4 million for the place in 2005, purchasing it from producer-writer Sidney Sheldon, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Since 2015, when it first came on the market for $85 million, the home has tried out a variety of price points. It made it our weekly look at the nation’s most expensive homes in 2019, when it was relisted for $78 million.

Max Azria died in 2019, and he left quite a statement with the mansion’s decor: a mix of vibrant colors, prints, chandeliers, and even a shimmering floral ceiling. The wild look was toned down before the home headed to auction.

It now leans toward quiet luxury with a neutral palette, loads of lights, and warm woods, all of which would surely catch the eye of a wealthy celeb.

A separate building has a lounge and home theater.

Storied estate

The 60-room mansion on 2.8 acres located in the prestigious Holmby Hills neighborhood is a melding of period architecture and modern amenities.

Set behind a long, gated driveway, the world-class compound includes a guest house, catering kitchen, and infinity pool with sauna. A separate, 5,500-square-foot building includes a theater, game room, and home office.

Manicured grounds feature a tennis court, Japanese and Mediterranean gardens, and a greenhouse.

The estate is billed as an ideal entertainment home for events, with a “flawless layout” perfect for family, staff, and guests.
