A magical home that looks like it was handpicked right from a Hallmark Christmas movie has hit the market for $3 million—just in time for the festive season.
The winter wonderland, known as Timber Creek, is in Redmond, WA, and features a hobby farm, log home, and its very own Christmas store, making it the ideal property for anyone eager to add some festive flair to their life year-round.
However, even those who aren’t eager to reside in a Christmas grotto-esque abode may be interested in the home’s other previous uses, with the listing agent revealing that it was actually built to serve as a metalsmith shop.
“It’s such a historic location, and the shop was first constructed somewhere between 1906 and 1912,” explains Joshua Service, of Compass. “In the original days, it was a metalsmith shop where the carriages would pull in, the animals would be unhooked, and metalsmithing would start.
“What was really unique is a family of five lived in that one 10-foot-by-9-foot room back then. A couple of businesses came in after that and the sellers purchased the property (for $270,000) in 1999 and created The Christmas Shop.”

The log-frame home was built in 1936 by the previous owners, Service says.
“There are two bedrooms upstairs along with a bathroom,” he notes. “On the main level, there is a kitchen, dining room, and front family room. The sellers added an owner’s suite below. Timber Creek started off 25 years ago and originally included other items, including western wear; but as time went on, and Christmas became such a hit, it took over the entire first floor.”
Located on 9.2 acres, the turnkey property, offered with all of the furnishings, borders Soaring Eagle Park and Patterson Creek.
“The property goes across a former historic salmon stream that was very productive,” Service says. “Beyond that is Soaring Eagle Park, a 50-acre preserve. There is even a hobby farm on property with a stable and chicken coop. The owners have transitioned to Colorado and are building their dream home there.”
He adds that before his involvement with the property, the sellers didn’t have a website.
“Now, they have an online store that is very successful,” he says. “They built the business 25 years ago, and it has grown into what it is today by word of mouth. It’s only open three months out of the year, but they make over $250,000 in Christmas sales alone.”
While the Christmas business is extraordinarily successful during the wintertime, Service points out that the next buyer could also do many other things with the property throughout the year.

“The garage was what was once called a long cabin and has a wood-burning fireplace,” he notes. “You could turn it into a winery with a tasting room and live in the main home. The shop could be multipurpose. You could have a pumpkin patch or a harvest fest there in the fall and host other festivities each time of year there. The sellers hope the next buyer carries on the story of Timber Creek.”
Service says the owners are hoping to find someone who will take what is there and bring it to the next level.
“You could take the foundation the sellers built and explode that,” he says. “What’s unique is that the property has a hobby business. Everything is included except for the donkey and the horse, which are both going with the sellers.
“They want to find someone who feels as passionately as they did about creating the store, but they understand it could become a multipurpose store.”
The city of Redmond is also appealing for its large number of tech companies coming to town.
“It is the hub of technology with companies like Microsoft, Facebook, and Amazon,” Service notes. “In the opposite direction is Fall City, which is a historic country town about to explode with massive growth. The property is also about 20 minutes away from a ski mecca, so it is in the heart of what makes the Pacific Northwest so beautiful.
“It’s on a highly trafficked road with tons of travelers, so it would be a great place for any future business, including seasonal harvest festivals, a tree farm, a fully functioning garden shop, or even horse boarding. There is nothing quite like it in the Pacific Northwest. The history, prestige, and location are like no other and make you feel like you are being teleported into a Hallmark movie.”
