Taylor Swift Has Finally Endorsed Kamala Harris—but the Singer’s Property Portfolio Takes a Much More Complex Political Stance

Taylor Swift may have an album titled “Red,” but she has now (finally) confirmed that she is voting blue after throwing her support behind Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris in a boldly worded statement.
The electrifying performer and newly-minted NFL WAG publicly endorsed Harris in an Instagram post shared shortly after the presidential debate between the vice president and Republican candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday.
“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” the 34-year-old told her 283 million followers. “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”
She signed her social media missive as “Childless Cat Lady,” a reference to a statement Trump’s running mate JD Vance made about women without children.
But while Swift appears unwavering in her decision to endorse Harris, she doesn’t seem to have a clear allegiance to red or blue when it comes to her choice of real estate investments.

In fact, the chart-topper, who is currently in a high-profile relationship with Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, has owned homes in several traditionally red states over the years, as well as plenty of left-leaning areas, and even a few “purple” states.
Here, we reveal what political tale Swift’s expansive property portfolio has to tell.
Swift’s red-state properties
Waterfront home in Hendersonville, TN
In 2003, the Swift family moved from Pennsylvania to Hendersonville, TN, so Taylor could pursue her music career.
The Swifts still own the waterfront home with views of the Cumberland River.
Located in Sumner County, which favored Donald Trump in the 2020 election by a wide margin, this home is firmly in the red.
Nashville condo

After signing a record deal with Big Machine Records, Swift purchased a $2 million luxury condo in the Music Row neighborhood for herself back in 2009 when she was just 20 years old.
Located in the luxury loft building known as the Adelicia, Swift’s 3,500-square-foot penthouse features three bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. She also splurged on a one-bedroom apartment below hers for $387,000 and still owns both units.
But while the home is located in what is traditionally considered a “red” state, Davidson County was actually one of only three of Tennessee’s 95 counties to favor Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
Tennessee estate in Forest Hills
In 2011, Swift also bought a Greek Revival mansion in the gated Northumberland Estate neighborhood of Forest Hills.
The four-bedroom mansion cost $2.5 million and features soaring ceilings, a curved staircase, floor-to-ceiling windows, and marble fireplaces. She also built a separate recording studio on the property. Just south of Music City, this area leans a little more red than downtown Nashville.

Los Angeles midcentury modern mansion

In 2012, Swift bought a Los Angeles home with a lagoon-style pool and a 1,000-bottle wine cellar. Vanishingly few cities are more solidly blue than the entertainment capital of the world.
She dropped a cool $1,775,000 for the midcentury modern home that features floor-to-ceiling windows and a private courtyard. She sold the property six years later for $2.65 million.
Hyannis Port mansion
In 2012, Swift purchased a seven-bedroom waterfront home in Hyannis Port, MA, for $4.1 million, but she sold it a few months later for $5.67 million.
An area that wholeheartedly favors Democrats, it’s famously known as the home the Kennedy Family compound.
Tribeca penthouse

In 2014, Swift bought two penthouses in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood.
She combined the 5,869-square-foot apartment bought for $14.85 million with a neighboring three-bedroom unit she snagged for $5.1 million. The result is a nine-bedroom, nine-bathroom megaresidence with wood-beamed ceilings, a dramatic curved staircase, and oversized windows.
She later bought a third unit in the building a few years later for $9.75 million, converting it to a garage so she can leave home in peace. She paid $18 million for the 5,000-square-foot townhouse, which serves as her private entrance.
And although Trump claims New York City as his own, it’s a Democratic stronghold that leans heavily blue.
Summer dream house in Watch Hill

Swift loves to spend any downtime she has in summer at her “Holiday House” in Rhode Island. She purchased the place for $17.75 million in 2013.
The seaside estate once belonged to composer and socialite Rebekah Harkness, who was Swift’s inspiration for the song “Dorothea” from her 2020 album, Evermore.
She was recently at the mansion celebrating time off from her world-conquering Eras Tour. This home has eight bedrooms, a 36-foot-long parlor, and an octagonal dining room. Washington County also favored Biden by a wide margin in 2020.
Beverly Hills mansion
In 2015, Swift added a Southern California residence to her portfolio when she purchased a historic Beverly Hills mansion for $25 million.
The former home of Samuel Goldwyn, co-founder of Goldwyn Pictures, features a tennis court, a pool house, and a rose garden. Like L.A., Beverly Hills is solidly blue.
