Southwestern serenity is a given at the 87-acre lodging retreat in Tucson, AZ.

The property includes a main house, guesthouses, a barbecue area, pool, an event hall, and gated access to Saguaro National Park—all for $5.95 million.

“There’s nothing in the area like it,” says listing agent Adrianne Burnell, with Berkshire Hathaway Homeservices. She sold the place to the current owners in 2010 for $1.6 million.

The prized acreage was a cattle ranch in the 1950s before transforming into a boutique retreat.

“It was the property that was gorgeous, and that’s what they fell in love with,” Burnell says of the current owners. “They had a vision about what they could do with the property.”

The owners expanded and renovated the 1960s-era ranch home, built an event venue, and added seven guest casitas. The property is now known as Rincon Creek Ranch.

The four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom main house now has an expanded kitchen with a butler’s pantry, but it maintains some of its period charm.

“They kept the original stove from the 1950s, which is a wood burning stove, and then they added a stove into the new kitchen addition,” Burnell says.

During the renovations, the sellers also updated many of the mechanicals, such as internet, security, and electric. The main house also includes a library, card room, an outdoor pool, and an Arizona room.

“It’s ready to move in,” Burnell assures. “You literally can bring your stuff and drop it. There’s no work that needs to be done on that home.”

Another facet of the owners’ plan was to build the guesthouses, which were completed in 2015. There are three two-bedroom, two-bath guest cottages and four with one bedroom and one bath each.

“Everything was thoughtfully done,” Burnell notes. “The casitas are the same floor plans; however, when you walk into one, you want to see the next one because every single one is different. The decor, the colors, the fireplaces, everything.”

The casitas are on top of a hill, just a short walk from the main house. The furnishings in each casita convey with the sale.

“The views are 360 degrees from every casita,” Burnell says, adding that the vistas are of downtown Tucson and the Saguaro National Park. “There’s no casita that’s blocking the view of another casita.”

The grounds include a shop, pastures, detached garage, and carports.

Another 2015 addition to the property was the Luella-Boomer Hall, a multipurpose building for the ranch. The 1,116-square-foot building looks like a Spanish mission, with a bell tower and double-arch wood doors. The space is designed to host events.

“You walk in the double doors, and there is a pool table and little cocktail tables,” Burnell says. “There’s a bar and a screen if you want to watch movies, a full kitchen, women’s and men’s restroom.”

The hall also has a massage room and a gym with a separate entrance.

Burnell says one of the owners named the entertainment hall after his paternal grandparents, who helped him through college and taught him financial responsibility.

The sellers were operating the property as a lodging ranch, but Burnell says it got to be too much for them. They stopped taking reservations last year and concentrated on selling it.

The owners have created a splendid setup to host events and overnight guests.

“You could rent out the whole place and have seven casitas for guests or family,” Burnell suggests. “You won’t have to drive afterwards. The grounds are beautiful; it would be the perfect and ideal wedding venue.”
